Peter Lynn Twister II 4.1m
by Big Mike  Sept 13, 2009

My very first Power kite was a Peter Lynn Twister I 4.1m,  so I may be a little partial to this kite.  But this kite has earned its place in my heart and in many others’ hearts as well.  This is probably my best selling kite and for good reason.   It’s a kite that most newbies can handle fairly easily.   It does have massive pull and some decent lift.  Its just a great kite.

The quality is typical Peter Lynn Quality.  Very good.  The kite comes with a nice bag that you can read about in my bag review post.  The lines are good quality orange for Power and blue for brake.  These are easy to spot in grass or dirt.  The handles are nice,  but I thought they were a bit small compared to other kite handles I have been using lately.  The ground stake doesn’t help me out much at all.  Where I live in Texas,  the stake just won’t push into the ground.  The soil here (North of Dallas) is like cement.  If you go plant a tree,  the shovel handle breaks…that is how hard it is.   So it is very difficult for me to get the stake in the ground.   On the beach or in softer soil,  it would be a great stake.  In fact,  no kite pulled my stake out of the ground and it was only in a couple inches!

Flying:   The Twister II is just a joy to fly.  On my test flight,  I had very little wind,  yet it didn’t hesitate to get airborne and it wasn’t hard to keep it in the air.  I was hoping for stronger winds,  but I didn’t get them with the ver II.  I hope to have some more flight time on one soon and I will add to the post at that time.   But I imagine it has some improvement over the awesome ver I flying characteristics in higher wind.  Power is more instant than the recently reviewed Viper.  And it does have power!

The kite responds well to brakes and did not show any bad tendencies to luff at the edge of the window.  The color scheme is an improvement over the ver. I and now both sides of the kite are color instead of just the back side.

I had planned on keeping this one for myself to replace the ver I I got rid of a while back.  But this one too,  was snatched from me and I’ve got more on order.   I probably won’t get to keep any of those either.  But I am in the kite selling business,  so if someone wants a kite I have,  off it goes.

Synopsis:  Who can argue with the sales?   Its a great kite.  I want to keep one around.  So does everyone else.  Get you one if you can.
